Ceramic Brussels 2026: Booth A6
Ceramic Brussels is an annual art fair at Tour & Taxis in Brussels, dedicated entirely to contemporary ceramics and showcasing the medium’s full range, from functional design to experimental sculpture.
For the first time, at the 2026 edition of the fair, Rademakers Gallery presents a solo booth by Dutch artist Chris Rijk (1995). Rijk's playful and tactile ceramic works explore craftsmanship, identity, and contemporary culture through a distinctive fusion of Delft Blue traditions and provocative, often queer imagery. Working beyond conventional forms such as vases and plates, Rijk introduces unexpected objects — like ceramic slippers — that both honor historical craft techniques and critically reframe them, using humor, text, and erotic references to challenge social norms and expand the expressive potential of ceramics.
