Nancy Poeran

Nancy Poeran is a visual artist based in the Netherlands, working at the intersection of photography, drawing, and artificial intelligence. She graduated from the Fotoacademie Amsterdam in December 2023, following a successful two-decade career in the business world. Her artistic journey reflects the transformations she explores in her work—shifts in identity, emotion, and perception.

Exploring female identity
Nancy's work investigates the fluid nature of identity through a female lens. Rather than seeking definitive truths, she embraces ambiguity, seeing identity as something shaped by memory, emotion, and personal experience. Her visual language resists logic, inviting the viewer to feel before thinking.

Blending technique and intuition
Her creative process begins with photography and hand-drawn sketches, which are then developed further through intuitive experimentation. Artificial intelligence is introduced as a collaborator—not a director—adding unpredictability and complexity to the work.
