The Hue Screen is a free- standing, four piece folding screen that can function either as a interior object and /or as a light installation. The front side is illuminative and shows the depiction of an exotic peek - through: a window into another world. The larger than life framework creates a chance to dive deeper into details like leaf structures, shapes and silhouettes of different types of plants and color Hues. In history, folding screens have often served as attractive room dividers, celebrating the tranquillity and beauty of nature. A folding screen plays with it’s architectural surroundings and can function as a dynamic piece within a static space. By positioning it anywhere into a room, unwanted gazes are blocked and intimate area’s are created.
The back side of the Hue Screen is made from walnut wood. One can adjust the set up of the screen, play with the illusional space it creates, it’s lighting mode and front- and backside. The Hue screen comes with a remote control that can dim the light, adjusting it’s intensity and the temperature of the lighting in warm or cold. This way, different atmospheres can be created within the piece. Soft light versus hard, warm versus cold. Just like the rhythm of day in which light is constantly shifting, leaving our perception and moods to be affected by it.
