Milan Dop

Milan Dop
Milan Dop (1999) is a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2025, where he presented his work Skyscape and was awarded the Overduin Prize 2025.
Exploring materials and perception
Milan works primarily with resin and light, creating pieces that blur the boundaries between materiality, color, and perception. By experimenting with interactivity and intuitive design, he creates work that invites the viewer to play, connect, and experience art in a tactile, immersive way. Skyscape, an interactive modular lamp, encourages viewers to build and reshape it, echoing childhood toys while reflecting the changing colors of the sky. Inspired by sunsets viewed from his kitchen window, the piece combines nostalgia with a poetic sensitivity to light and color.
Background
With a foundation in Game Design, Milan’s practice is strongly informed by playtesting, interaction, and user experience. He approaches art as a medium for engagement rather than passive observation.
