Children of the Light

Children of the Light (Christopher Gabriel & Arnout Hulskamp, Netherlands) is an Amsterdam-based artist duo whose collaborative practice explores light, perception, and interactive experiences. Their work spans kinetic installations, immersive video, and spatial interventions, engaging viewers in a playful yet thought-provoking dialogue with their environment. The duo’s projects aim to illuminate the unseen, transforming everyday materials and phenomena into experiences that challenge and expand our perception of reality.
Kinetic & Immersive Art
Children of the Light investigate the dynamic interplay of light, motion, and space. By experimenting with reflective surfaces, suspended forms, and digital projections, they create immersive environments that respond to audience presence. Their work often merges science and art, structure and spontaneity, guiding viewers to explore movement, time, and perception in unexpected ways.
Education & Background
Both members trained at leading art institutions in the Netherlands, including the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. Their collaborative practice has been shaped by interdisciplinary residencies and international exhibitions that merge technology, sculpture, and interactive media.
