Petra Hart (1972) is a visual artist. She works in clearly defined concepts. The common denominator is nature in the broadest sense of the word as a source of inspiration and the fact that she works from a vector-based computer program, vectors are 100% sharp, any size. Petra Hart lets her public experience a process of deconstruction. She shows the aesthetic qualities and wondrous mathematically of nature and removes all boundaries of size, scale and materiality from her subject by transferring it to the digital realm. Petra is also extremely fascinated by physics and conducted research between 2016-2019 on topics as space, light, time and the electromagnetic spectrum.
Time goes very slowly. What exactly happens between sunset and sunrise? Does the sun rise exactly at the same place every day and does it set in the same place? Or does it save a yoctosecond? A fraction of a second that we cannot comprehend? Are there different time paths? Are there multiple dimensions? Is time flowing? Does time have a direction? These questions fascinate her immensely.
The LED Installation "From dusk till dawn" is her first work in this new series about space, light, time and the electromagnetic spectrum.
Her work is included in private collections in Europe and the United States of America.
