We have created an ongoing illusional banana tree forrest with our Growing Plants Indoors series over the past years. Now a new series has joined the family besides the original green version: Growing Plants Indoors Colors. Our connection to nature and the human urge for a natural experience in our domestic environment is key in this project. As we tend to bring nature inside our homes a conflict arises between the plants needs and our human desire for nature’s touch. The house plants often end up in window sills and their natural reaction is to grow towards the light, which leads them to being stuck between inside and outside, interior and exterior, pushed back by a shield of glass.

The Growing Plants Indoors series balance light, photo collage and illusional depth to create a natural experience with an optical sense. In the COLORS series four new colours are presented in four different lengths. Orange beging the largest one (170 cm), followed by Pink (160 cm), Green (150 cm) and Blue (140 cm). The different colors bring their own unique aura to the individual pieces. Adding color is adding a new layer to the original concept, pushing it forward towards a more illusionary world. Just as we need green in our lives, we need color too.
